A little Sex didn't hurt anybody
We last saw them 4 years ago -- whilst they have occasionally reappeared in our living rooms in re-runs on HBO and the heavily censored version on TBS. But usually they never really left us. Surely there has to be some justice in this universe. Carrie cannot live alone forever in her very costly apartment, with huge closets for her dresses and her shoes.
Here is the great news for the fans of Sex and also the City who've been eagerly waiting for the film. The movie opened this weekend and it is A couple of hours and Twenty minutes of excellent fun and laughs, some tears, lots of shopping and more designer labels than you can now imagine. That demographic's turnout was expected, although it is extremely rare that just women alone can make a film that big. Lines were long outside theatres in Manhattan -- but after every 100 women, you could count a number of men. I saw the 10 am show on 'life was imple' in Greenwich Village. There were at least 150 people in the theatre and 80-90 percent of these were women,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], most in groups with friends.
Critics mostly blasted the film,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych]. Plus some criticism of the Television show and also the film is valid,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych]. Granted Sex and also the City paints an unreal world. The show asserted it was relatively easy to obtain sex in Nyc, but dating and finding good men, whilst balancing demanding careers and making time for girl talk to buddies was all very challenging. Eventually it is Carrie whose relationship with commitment-phobic Mr. Big defined the show's six seasons and now also the film.
Sex and the City may appear to become unreal but these are really the concerns that real people face within our times. Why malign and dismiss a show and a film, because it is such a big cultural phenomenon?And what went down to simply entertainment for the sake of entertainment?
